What is the difference between Hydrogen Peroxide teeth whitening with blue light versus lazer??//?
Hydrogen peroxide is the active ingredient in almost all tooth whitening gels/pastes/strips etc just in different concentrations. It breaks down the molecules on your tooth that have accumulated there over time (from tea, wine etc) into smaller molecules that are not as dark and therefore your tooth appears whiter. The blue light and laser both to “activate” the hydrogen peroxide to work faster. However, research has not shown there to be any advantage when it comes to whitening to using the light over traditional tray with gel overnight whitening. In other words, your teeth will be just as whiter whether you use light-activated or overnight methods (note: this does NOT include the crestwhitestrips and other commerically available whitening whick works maybe 1/10th as well as the professional treatment). The main advantage is the light/laser activated whitening can be done in 1 hr in the office whereas the tray-based whitening you would wear overnight while you sleep. However, many people report more sensitivity with the light.
